MLB Game Summary - Arizona at Minnesota

Final Score: Arizona 1 - Minnesota 6

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Nick Blackburn was efficient on the hill and the streaking Twins rallied for a six-run seventh inning, as Minnesota beat the Arizona Diamondbacks, 6-1, in the middle installment of a three-game set from the Metrodome.

Blackburn (6-4) lasted seven innings and yielded just one run on three hits while fanning three batters. Delmon Young, Justin Morneau and Alexi Casilla each had a hit and an RBI for the Twins, who have won five in a row and eight of 10. Brian Buscher had a two-run double in the win.

Micah Owings (6-6) was dealt the loss as he lasted just 6 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on five hits. Stephen Drew went 2-for-4 and scored a run for the D'Backs, who have dropped two in a row and five of seven overall. Chad Tracy had an RBI in defeat.

"It's that one inning," D'Backs manager Bob Melvin said. "Micah pitched great, we didn't give him much run support and we didn't have a big margin of error."

The Twins took the lead back in the seventh inning. Joe Mauer singled to lead off the frame and came around to score as Morneau cracked a bloop double to right, and advanced to third on the throw. Michael Cuddyer grounded to Drew for the first out and Jason Kubel drew a walk before Chad Qualls was called on in relief.

Young kept it going with an RBI single, and a passed ball advanced both runners into scoring position. Buscher belted a two-run double to left and Brendan Harris continued with an RBI double. Carlos Gomez interjected with a whiff for the second out, but Casilla singled up the middle to plate Harris and Minnesota was sitting on a 6-1 cushion.

Dennys Reyes took the mound to close it out for the Twins in the ninth and retired Drew on a ground out. Conor Jackson worked a single, but Orlando Hudson fell victim to a 4-6-3, game-ending double play.

"It's a great time, especially the way we're getting hits in bunches," Cuddyer said. "We had a big inning last night and a big inning tonight; that's what you have to do to win."

Arizona got on the board in the fourth. Drew opened the frame with a double, but Jackson and Hudson were retired. Tracy followed with a single up the middle, which plated Drew and gave the D'Backs a 1-0 lead.
