MLB Game Summary - Houston at Baltimore

Final Score: Houston 1 - Baltimore 2

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Kevin Millar's single up the middle drove in Melvin Mora with the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning, giving the Baltimore Orioles a 2-1 win over the flailing Astros in the second of a three-game set.

Millar's single made a winner of Chad Bradford (3-2), who threw two scoreless innings in relief of Jeremy Guthrie, who held the Astros to three hits and a run over eight frames, with eight strikeouts and a walk.

"That's probably the best game Guthrie has pitched this year," said Orioles manager Dave Trembley. "There was one pitch that he wanted back. He pitched a heck of a game."

Luke Scott's homer accounted for the other run for the Orioles, who have taken the first two games of this interleague set, and four of five overall.

Jose Valverde (4-2) surrendered Millar's RBI single in the 10th to take the loss. Brian Moehler allowed only a run and five hits over 6 1/3 innings, fanning four and walking two. Lance Berkman's solo homer provided the offense for Houston, which ran its losing streak to seven, and has dropped 16 of 19 overall.

Valverde got Nick Markakis to ground out to first to start the 10th, but Mora and Aubrey Huff rapped consecutive singles, with Mora advancing to third on Huff's base hit. Millar came to the plate after an 0-for-4 start, and in the midst of an 0-for-13 skid.

He ended it with a grounder right back up the middle, through the drawn-in infield, and Mora came home with the game-winner for Baltimore.

"You got to make a pitch where you can get a ground ball. It's just unfortunate that it went up the middle," said Astros manager Cecil Cooper.

Millar failed twice earlier in the game in first-and-third situations with two outs, lining out to right in the first, and flying out to center in the sixth, as the game remained scoreless into the seventh. Then Berkman belted a fly ball out to right with one out in the seventh, his 20th, putting the Astros on top.

Moehler surrendered the lead in the home half, however, on Scott's leadoff homer to center, his 12th.
