National League Game Summary - Philadelphia at Atlanta

Final Score: Philadelphia 6 - Atlanta 3

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Ryan Howard finished with three doubles and four runs batted in, as the Philadelphia Phillies swept a three-game series against Atlanta with a 6-3 win over the Braves.

Shane Victorino also collected three hits and drove in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning for Philadelphia, which has won four in a row, seven of eight and 12 of 14.

"I like hot weather...growing up in St. Louis where it's hot and sticky like this," Howard said of the game, which was played in 93-degree weather according to the MLB box score.

Adam Eaton continued his recent good play, as the starter gave up three runs on eight hits in six innings, with two walks and two strikeouts. Eaton has put up four straight quality starts (six or more innings, three or less runs allowed) for the Phillies.

Chad Durbin (2-1) picked up the win after throwing two scoreless innings in relief, while Brad Lidge picked up his 17th save in as many chances.

Mark Teixeira went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer for Atlanta, which has lost four of five. Braves third baseman Chipper Jones, who has a major league- best .420 batting average, did not play because of a slight tear in his right quadriceps. Atlanta Braves fell to 0-6 without him in the lineup.

"When you're missing key guys like Chipper," Teixeira said. "It's going to catch up to you sooner or later. We still have a ton of season left and have a chance to get these guys healthy."

Jorge Campillo made his first start against Philadelphia and limited the Phillies to three runs on seven hits through 5 1/3 frames. The teams were deadlocked until the ninth inning, when Blaine Boyer (1-4) took the mound, gave up three runs and got tagged with the loss.

Boyer got the first out of the inning, as Chris Coste popped out. But then pinch-hitter Eric Bruntlett and Jimmy Rollins hit back-to-back singles.

Victorino fell behind Boyer, 0-2, but dropped a single in front of Gregor Blanco in center field to plate Bruntlett, as the throw home was well off the mark. Victorino advanced to second on the play, and with first open, Blaine walked Chase Utley to load the bases.

Howard, who had already doubled twice, smashed a first-pitch fastball off the base of the wall in left field to bring home Rollins and Victorino, ending Boyer's brief day.

Manny Acosta came in and got Jayson Werth to line into a double play, ending the inning, but Philadelphia had the 6-3 lead in hand. Lidge needed just seven pitches to nail down the save and end the game.

"It's huge," Howard said of the sweep. "This is a team that, you know, you can't give them too many opportunities to win the game....for us, to come in and be able to take three and start the road trip like that."

The Phillies took the lead with two runs in the first inning. Victorino and Utley got on board with singles, and Howard followed by driving a double to right field, plating Victorino.

An intentional walk to Pat Burrell loaded the bases with one out, and Geoff Jenkins grounded out to score Utley and put Philadelphia up 2-0.

But in the home first, Yunel Escobar ripped a double, and Teixeira blasted a fastball over the center field wall to tie the game. It was Teixeira's 10th homer of the season.

The Phillies edged back out in front in the third. Victorino led off with a single, and Howard pushed him home with an opposite-field double that fell a few feet inside the left field line.

Atlanta loaded the bases in the bottom of the third, but Eaton got Jeff Francoeur to ground into a double play to end the third. Eaton, however, was not as lucky in the fourth, when the Braves tied the game.

Singles from Omar Infante and Campillo put runners on the corners with one out. Josh Anderson then looped a single to center that fell in front of Victorino, driving in Infante and making it a 3-3 game.
