National League Game Summary - San Francisco at Washington

Final Score: San Francisco 6 - Washington 0

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - John Bowker's grand slam highlighted a six-run eighth inning as San Francisco rocked Washington, 6-0, in the second installment of a four-game set from Nationals Park.

Rich Aurilia collected three hits and an RBI and Bengie Molina knocked in the other run for the Giants, who have won the first two games of the series and four of six overall.

Jonathan Sanchez (5-3) scattered four hits over seven innings to notch the win. He struck out four and walked two, to record his second scoreless outing.

Cristian Guzman, Lastings Milledge, Aaron Boone and Jesus Flores recorded hits for the Nationals, losers in five of their last six.

Sean Hill (0-3) was solid in defeat, letting up seven hits and two runs in the loss for Washington.

"It doesn't go unnoticed how well he pitched," said Nats manager Manny Acta. "We couldn't get anything going offensively."

After Fred Lewis began the eighth by grounding out, Juan Castillo singled and advanced to third as Randy Winn sliced a double down the left-field line.

Hill was pulled for Luis Ayala, who gave up a base hit to Molina which plated Castillo with the game's first run. Ray Durham walked to load the bases, then Aurilia dumped an RBI single to center for a 2-0 game.

Bowker stepped in and deposited the first pitch he saw into the right-center field stands to put the Giants up by six.

"We did have some great at-bats in the inning," noted Giants manager Bruce Bochy.

Tyler Walker and Pat Misch finished off the whitewash with one scoreless inning each.

The game evolved as a pitchers' duel through the first five innings, with Hill allowing four hits while Sanchez trumped that by yielding only two.

Milledge singled with one out in the home sixth, but was quickly erased on an inning-ending double play on a grounder from Boone.

In the seventh, Aurilia lined a one-out double. Bowker lined out and Omar Vizquel was walked intentionally, but Sanchez lined out to center to keep the game scoreless.
