American League Game Summary - Minnesota at Chicago

Final Score: Minnesota 2 - Chicago WSox 11

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Joe Crede continued his amazing power surge, clubbing a pair of three-run homers, as the Chicago White Sox pounded the Minnesota Twins, 11-2, in the second installment of a four-game series.

Nick Swisher had three hits, an RBI and scored three times for the first-place White Sox, who have won five straight games and 17 of their last 23. They widened their lead to 4 1/2 games over Minnesota in the AL Central.

The White Sox have hit 11 home runs through the first five games of this homestand, including tying a season-high with four in Friday night's 10-6 victory.

Two of those were from Crede, who has 14 homers this year, with seven of them coming against the Twins. The six RBI from Crede on Saturday was one shy of a career-best, set Aug. 27, 2002 against Toronto.

"It's a matter of having a good game plan up there," Crede said. "I've been doing good at the plate and it's a matter of riding it out as long as I can."

Mark Buehrle (3-6) threw eight solid innings, allowing seven hits and one run to move his lifetime mark to 21-11 versus the Twins. That includes victories in eight of his last 10 decisions against Minnesota.

"He was great. Hopefully we can see him like that every start," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. "We know what we are going to get from him and he is going to pitch to contact."

Livan Hernandez (6-3) yielded eight hits and seven runs over four innings to remain winless in his last five starts. Delmon Young homered for the Twins, losers of three in a row.

"We basically got our butts whooped tonight," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire. "They scored a touchdown on us early in the game and we never got back in it."

The White Sox had a smashing second inning against Hernandez, who let up a lead-off triple to Paul Konerko. Jim Thome followed with a sacrifice fly to right. Jermaine Dye singled and Swisher doubled before Crede blasted his first homer of the night, a shot to left.

Chicago added three more in the fourth thanks to an Alexei Ramirez RBI single and Orlando Cabrera's two-run double.

Young homered with two down in the seventh, but the White Sox padded their lead to 11-1 in the eighth off Boof Bonser. Thome singled and pinch-hitter Brian Anderson followed with a base hit. Swisher then singled to right field to drive in a run, and Crede cranked his second homer of the night, this one banging off the pole in left field.

Brendan Harris singled off reliever Nick Masset to drive in Craig Monroe in the ninth.
