Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Luis Gonzalez went 2-for-4 and hit the 350th home run of his career, as the Florida Marlins derailed the streaking Philadelphia Phillies with a 7-3 win in the middle contest of a three-game series.
The homer moved Gonzalez into a tie with Chili Davis for 77th on the all-time home run list. The Marlins also set a franchise mark for home runs in a month. Gonzalez, Jorge Cantu and Cody Ross all hit one to push Florida's May total to 43.
Ricky Nolasco (5-3) got the win by holding the Phillies' offense in check, and gave up just two runs on four hits in 6 2/3 innings. He also dealt two walks and had five strikeouts for the Marlins, who snapped a three-game losing streak and moved back into first place in the National League East.
Florida shortstop Hanley Ramirez, who left Friday's contest with a bruised thumb, was in the lineup and went 2-for-5 with a double.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, had a five-game win streak snapped as starter Cole Hamels (5-4) continued to struggle. In his last outing, Hamels allowed six runs in four innings, and on Saturday surrendered seven runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 frames.
Shane Victorino doubled twice, while Chase Utley hit his MLB-leading 19th homer of the season for the Phillies, who couldn't keep up their torrential offensive pace. In their previous five games, the Phillies had scored 60 total runs, and no fewer than six in any single game.
Philadelphia got on the scoreboard first, when Pat Burrell singled in Victorino in the first inning with an opposite-field hit. In the third, Victorino smacked a lead-off double down the right field line and later scored on a Ryan Howard ground out for a 2-0 Philadelphia edge.
But Hamels, who only allowed one baserunner through the first three frames, fell apart in the fourth.
Ramirez led off with a double, and a Jeremy Hermida single put runners at the corners. After Cantu hit a fly out, Wes Helms roped a double to left that plated both runners and tied the game.
Later in the inning, Gonzalez lofted a ball over the wall in right field for his 350th home run and a 4-2 Marlins lead.
Hamels worked a perfect fifth inning, but ran into more trouble in the sixth. Cantu led off with his eighth homer of the season, a line shot to left. After Gonzalez lined a single to right with two outs, Ross blasted a first-pitch fastball deep to left for his 10th homer of the season.
At the time of the blast, it was Ross' ninth homer in his last 10 hits. It also chased Hamels from the game with Florida ahead, 7-2.
From that point on the Marlins' bullpen closed out the game. Renyel Pinto came on with two outs in the seventh frame and tossed an inning of relief, though he gave up Utley's solo shot in the eighth.
Matt Lindstrom got the final out of that inning, and Kevin Gregg threw a perfect ninth to end the contest.
