American League Game Summary - Toronto at Oakland

Final Score: Toronto 12 - Oakland 0

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Jesse Litsch tossed seven innings of scoreless ball and the Toronto Blue Jays registered 17 hits in a 12-0 drubbing of the Oakland Athletics in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Litsch hurled the first shutout of his career in his previous start and didn't disappoint in his follow-up performance, scattering seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

"I'll try not to stop here and keep rolling," Litsch said. "I just went out there and threw strikes again today. It's definitely different when you score 12 runs in a game. Seeing these guys swing the bats is awesome. The longer you wait between innings is good. Everything is coming together."

Rod Barajas brought in three runs thanks to three doubles, while Aaron Hill and Brad Wilkerson each knocked in a pair for the Jays, who have won seven of their last eight. Kevin Mench and Shannon Stewart both recorded three hits with Stewart adding a home run for the victors.

Dana Eveland (4-4), coming off the first complete game of his career in his last outing, was rocked for seven runs on 11 hits in just 4 1/3 innings for Oakland, which finished 5-4 on its nine-game homestand. Jack Hannahan tallied three hits and Emil Brown added a double and a triple in defeat.

Eveland found himself in trouble early after loading the bases with one out in the second. Wilkerson's sacrifice fly to left knocked in the game's first run and David Eckstein roped a double to right to force in another.

"Honestly I felt a little rusty," Eveland said. "I had seven days rest. I didn't feel bad, I didn't feel great. It was just another day. I felt confident going into my start after the last one. I just went out there and they swung the bats. Everything found a hole."

A double steal led to the Jays' third run an inning later, as Alex Rios and Scott Rolen moved into scoring position with Rios crossing the plate on a Mench sacrifice fly.

Eveland crowded the bases again in the fourth, but the Jays only tacked on one more behind Hill's one-out single.

Eveland wouldn't be as fortunate in Toronto's next at-bat, getting pulled after an RBI double from Barajas and a run-scoring single from Wilkerson.

Dallas Braden came in and promptly issued a bases-loaded walk to Hill before yielding another three-run frame in the sixth, when Marco Scutaro's single made it an 8-0 game, and Barajas' third double of the day brought home a pair.

Meanwhile, Litsch cruised through the Oakland lineup, allowing just two baserunners to reach at least second base, the last of which being Brown, whose two-out triple in the sixth was squandered on Mark Ellis' groundout.

Stewart's two-run blast in the ninth added to the barrage, as Jesse Carlson and Shawn Camp pitched scoreless eighth and ninth innings, respectively, to complete to shutout.
