National League Game Summary - Milwaukee at Washington

Final Score: Milwaukee 5 - Washington 2

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Mike Cameron went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, scoring twice as the Milwaukee Brewers downed the Washington Nationals, 5-2, in the second game a four-game set.

Corey Hart hit a two-run homer for the Brewers, who had lost two straight and seven of nine entering play. Seth McClung (2-1) came out of the bullpen and made his first start of season, holding the Nationals to four hits and two runs in five frames, fanning four with no walks.

"I just stuck with the game plan," said McClung. "Mike (pitching coach Mike Maddux) and JK (catcher Jason Kendall) had a pretty good scheme of what was going and I just followed Kendall all night."

John Lannan (4-5) let up three runs on five hits in five innings, with four strikeouts and a walk. Lastings Milledge homered for the Nationals, who have dropped three of four.

The game was scoreless entering the fourth, which Cameron led off with a double to left-center. Ryan Braun fanned and Prince Fielder grounded out, but Hart came through with a two-out home run to left-center, giving the Brewers a 2-0 lead.

Bill Hall led off the fifth with a single to left, moved to second on McClung's sacrifice bunt, advanced to third on a balk, and came home on a Rickie Weeks sacrifice fly to left to make it a 3-0 game.

Milledge got the Nats on the board with his second home run of the season, a leadoff blast to left in the fifth. Elijah Dukes laced a one-out single to left later in the inning, moved to second on a wild pitch, and Wil Nieves made it a one-run game with his double to right.

McClung bore down and got pinch-hitter Rob Mackowiak to ground out, and then fanned Felipe Lopez to strand Nieves at second.

J.J. Hardy reached on an infield single to start the seventh, and then Kendall lined a two-out double to left, pushing Hardy around for an insurance run for the Brewers. Cameron added another with his leadoff homer in the eighth.

Two errors by Hall made things interesting in the ninth for reliever Salomon Torres. Dmitri Young reached first after Hall misplayed a ball hit his way to start the frame, and then, with one out, a bad throw by Hall allowed Wily Mo Pena to reach first. With runners at the corners, Torres fanned Dukes for the second out, and then caught pinch-hitter Aaron Boone looking to end the game.
