Kyle Lohse (3-1) was dealt the loss after he was knocked around for eight runs on nine hits in six-plus innings on the hill.

Chicago put six runs on the board in the fourth. Ryan Theriot singled, and Lee's single made it first and third. Fukudome then belted a double to right field to plate Theriot. Mark DeRosa followed with a walk to load the bases, before Soto hit a ground-rule double to center to score two runs. Fontenot cleared the table with a three-run homer over the fence in right.
