National League Game Summary - San Francisco at Milwaukee

Final Score: San Francisco 4 - Milwaukee 13

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Bill Hall homered twice and drove in a career-high six runs as the Milwaukee Brewers pounded the San Francisco Giants, 13-4, in the opener of a three-game weekend series at Miller Park.

Hall finished with three hits, while the top of the order did the rest of the damage. The trio of Rickie Weeks, Gabe Kapler and Prince Fielder were a combined 8-for-13, with five RBI and eight runs scored as the Brewers won for the third time in four games.

"Hall hasn't been swinging bad," said Brewers manager Ned Yost. "You talk about guys early in the year struggling a little bit. It takes 50 at-bats for guys to get into the swing of things. Today we got Hall into a place where he's comfortable."

Milwaukee finished with 16 hits, making a winner out of young righty Carlos Villanueva (1-0). Making his first career start against the Giants, the 24- year-old allowed two runs and eight hits over 5 1/3 innings. He also walked a pair and struck out six.

Bengie Molina hit a two-run homer, while Jose Castillo and Rich Aurilia each drove in a run for San Francisco, which has dropped three of four to start the season. Jonathan Sanchez (0-1) had a disastrous outing, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits over four frames in the start. He walked two and struck out eight.

"We have to pitch and catch the ball and keep the game close," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy. "We're not going to get into a slugfest with too many teams, especially this one because they can put up a crooked number on the board pretty quick."

The Brewers jumped on Sanchez with three first-inning runs, highlighted by Hall's two-run shot. Weeks ripped a leadoff single, later stole second and scored on a base hit up the middle by Fielder. Ryan Braun then went down swinging, but Hall crushed a fastball over the wall in left-center to make it 3-0.

The Giants threatened in their first trip to the plate, but were turned away. They also left a pair on in the fourth, when Villanueva popped up with runners on first and second to end the inning.

Then came the fifth, in which the power-hitting Brewers tacked on five runs. Jason Kendall started it with a single to center, Weeks drew a free pass and Kapler punched the ball through the left side, making it a 4-0 game. Fielder's base hit followed, plating the fifth run, and two batters later Hall cranked out a three-run homer.

The Giants got two back in the sixth on back-to-back doubles by Aaron Rowand and Castillo, and an RBI single by Aurilia.

Milwaukee tacked on another five-spot in the sixth, though, drubbing reliever Brad Hennessey. Pinch-hitter Gabe Gross started with a walk, scored on Kendall's double and Weeks legged out an infield single. A base hit by Kapler put the club at double digits, and Fielder followed with a two-bagger to center. Braun then went down swinging, but consecutive singles by Hall and Corey Hart pushed the edge to 13-2.

Molina added a two-run homer for the Giants in the seventh.
