Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Robert Andino's first major league home run in the bottom of the 10th frame -- a line drive shot that quickly cleared the high scoreboard in left -- gave the Florida Marlins a 5-4 victory over the New York Mets in the middle contest of a season-opening three-game set at Dolphin Stadium.

Andino didn't stay around long to celebrate. He rushed out of the clubhouse after the game upon learning his home was broken into during the night.

Andino drove a pitch from Matt Wise (0-1) over the scoreboard and into the record books. His first home run made a winner of Justin Miller (1-0), who gave up one hit in a scoreless inning of work.

"Tip your cap to them (Marlins)," said Mets third baseman David Wright. "They went out there, got the job done pitching wise, and they got the big hit late in the game."

Dan Uggla hit a two-run home run and Luis Gonzalez added a solo shot for the Marlins, who will send young lefty Andrew Miller to the hill on Wednesday.

"To win the second game of the season, first win for us, is an exciting win, and to have Dino (third baseman Robert Andino) come up there in a big spot, extra innings, come up with a big hit for us," said Gonzalez. "I'm sure it's exciting for him as well as our club."

The story in the opposing dugout was Pedro Martinez's health. The right-hander didn't see the end of the fourth inning, surrendering four runs on four hits in 3 1/3 frames. He injured his left leg on a pitch during the fourth frame and was helped off the field by the team trainer. The diagnosis was a strained left hamstring.

Brian Schneider finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and Angel Pagan drove in a pair of runs for the Mets, who will counter with fellow southpaw Oliver Perez on Wednesday.

Florida jumped on the former Cy Young Award winner early in the game.

Hanley Ramirez was hit on the elbow by a Martinez fastball then Uggla drove a 2-1 change-up over the high scoreboard in left for a two-run shot and a quick 2-0 edge.

Rick VandenHurk's pitch count went through the roof in the top of the second inning. Pagan worked a two-out walk and Schneider singled through the hole between first and second. The two pitchers then engaged in a lengthy battle, as Martinez fouled off fastball after fastball. The 12-pitch at-bat finally ended in an inning-ending strikeout, but put the right-hander at 55 pitches through just two innings.

The Marlins went back to work against Martinez in the home half of the inning. Gonzalez reached out and pulled a pitch into the right-center field seats for a 3-0 game, then Alfredo Amezaga legged out a one-out infield single. VandenHurk bunted him over and Ramirez drove him in with a gapper that skipped past Carlos Beltran in center and ended up as the shortstop's first triple of the season.

The pitch count and a trio of singles finally got to VandenHurk in the fourth. Carlos Delgado, Ryan Church and Pagan all singled, the last of the three pushing across New York's first run. Schneider followed with another single to drive home Church, and after Martinez's sac bunt, Jose Reyes lofted a sacrifice fly to right for a 4-3 game.

VandenHurk's night ended after Pagan's single and his line closed after Reyes' sac fly. The right-hander gave up three runs on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk in three-plus innings.

The Mets tied the game in the top of the fifth on Pagan's sacrifice fly to center.
