After starting pitcher Jonathon Niese allowed a first inning run, Niese and four other pitchers combined to shut down Baltimore's offense for the remainder of the afternoon. Evans added a double and drove in a run for the Mets.
Kevin Millar drove in Baltimore's only run with a sacrifice fly, and Melvin Mora went 2-for-3 in the loss. Starter Brian Burres lasted 2 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits, and was saddled with the loss.
