Bradenton, FL (Sports Network) - Justin Morneau smacked a two-run double to cap off a three-RBI day as the Minnesota Twins topped the Pittsburgh Pirates, 8-4, in a Grapefruit League contest.
Craig Monroe, Jason Kubel and Jon Knott all hit solo home runs for the Twins, while Michael Cuddyer went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Scott Baker pitched two shutout innings -- allowing two hits and striking out three -- to earn the win.
Adam LaRoche smacked a two-run homer and Ryan Doumit followed it up with a solo blast as the Pirates hit back-to-back homers in the fourth inning, while Doumit also added an RBI single. Matt Morris absorbed the loss after surrendering four runs on six hits in his three-inning start.
