Scott Rolen belted a solo home run for Toronto, and Shannon Stewart went 2- for-3 with a pair of doubles. Shaun Marcum allowed two runs -- one earned -- on one hit over his three-inning start, striking out two and walking two.
Mike Hessman recorded the only hit off Marcum -- a second-inning solo homer -- and Placido Polanco also launched a solo shot for Detroit in the loss. Jeremy Bonderman had an up-and-down four-inning start, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out two.
