Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) - Travis Metcalf hit a two-run homer in the second inning, one of three Rangers homers as Texas downed the Chicago White Sox, 6-1, in Cactus League action.
David Murphy and Chris Davis hit solo homers for the Rangers. Vicente Padilla threw three innings, allowing only one hit and one run with two strikeouts and two walks to pick up the win for Texas. John Mayberry went 2- for-3, scoring a run and driving in another for the Rangers.
Paul Phillips went 1-for-2 with the lone RBI for Chicago, which managed only three hits. Charlie Haeger let up five hits and three runs in three innings, fanning two and walking two to take the loss for the White Sox.
