Martin Prado also had two hits, and Ryan Drese picked up the win for Atlanta by going 1 1/3 shutout innings in relief of starter Tom Glavine, who allowed two runs on four hits in his 2 2/3 frames.
Brent Clevlen was 3-for-4 and Daniel Worth drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers, who got a solid outing on the hill from Dontrelle Willis.
Willis tossed three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three, but saw his 2-0 lead evaporate when Armando Galarraga surrendered five third-inning runs and ultimately picked up the loss.
