Michael Young hit a two-run single, while Josh Hamilton went 3-for-3 with a run batted in and a run scored for the Rangers. Ian Kinsler was perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
Josh Rupe got the win for Texas after allowing only one run on three hits in two innings.
David DeJesus went 2-for-2 with two RBI and Mario Lisson smacked a solo home run for the Royals in the loss. Joel Peralta received the loss after giving up three runs on three hits in the bottom of the ninth inning.
