Mesa, AZ (Sports Network) - Ryan Rohlinger hit an eighth-inning grand slam to give San Francisco the lead and two Giants relievers combined make it stand up in an 8-6 Cactus League win over the Chicago Cubs.
Eugenio Velez was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Brett Harper drove in a pair of runs for the Giants, who trailed 5-4 heading to the eighth inning.
Starter Jonathan Sanchez allowed three earned runs in one inning, but Vinnie Chulk (1-0) and five other Giants relievers scattered three runs on six hits the rest of the way to hold off the Chicago rally.
Luis Figueroa was 2-for-2 with a run scored, while Casey McGehee and Alex Cintron drove in two runs apiece to lead the Cubs offense.
Les Walrond (0-1) surrendered the Rohlinger slam to take the blown save as well as the loss.
