Cody Ross hit a three-run home run, while Brett Carroll went 2-for-3 and knocked in three runs as well. Daniel Barone (1-0) got the win for Florida, after pitching two innings and only allowing one run.
Brian Roberts doubled in a run, while Melvin Mora and Tike Redman each had a run batted in for Baltimore. Adam Loewen (0-1) got the loss, after allowing three runs on three hits and walking four in one inning of work.
