(Sports Network) - Ex-Oriole John Parrish faces his old club for the third time tonight, when the Toronto Blue Jays head back to Camden Yards for the middle test of a three-game weekend set with slumping Baltimore.

A 31-year-old southpaw, Parrish was a 25th-round draft pick of the Orioles in 1996 and began his career with them in 2000, making 153 appearances through the 2007 season.

He closed that season with eight relief appearances for Seattle, then began 2008 with Toronto and has made five starts in 12 outings.

Parrish has faced the Orioles twice along the way, one time as a starter, and has allowed four runs on nine hits in 10 innings.

For Baltimore, youngster Brian Bass makes his fourth major-league start.

The 26-year-old righty began the season and made 44 straight relief appearances with Minnesota, but has taking three starting assignments in four outings with the Orioles since September 5.

He tossed 4 1/3 innings against the Blue Jays on September 17 in Toronto, allowing seven hits and five runs while getting a no-decision in an 8-7 loss.

Overall this season, Bass has surrendered 95 hits and 47 earned runs in 83 1/3 innings, walking 31 batters and striking out 41 in that stretch.

On Friday, Scott Richmond got his first big league win and Curtis Thigpen hit his first major league home run, as the Blue Jays downed Baltimore, 3-0, in a rain-shortened seven innings.

Richmond (1-3) surrendered only four hits without issuing a walk and fanned three. Scott Rolen and Jose Bautista drove in a run apiece for Toronto, which had lost three of four coming into this three-game set at Camden Yards.

Chris Waters (3-5) took the loss and was charged with all three runs on nine hits and a pair of walks. The left-hander struck out six in his six-plus innings. The O's managed only four singles through six frames before the game was called in the top of the seventh with one out.

Baltimore is a brutal 5-27 since August 22 and dropped its 10th straight game for the first time since a 12-game slide in August 2004.

Toronto has won 11 of its 16 matchups with the O's this season.
