Chicago Cubs (96-63) at Milwaukee Brewers (89-71), 3:55 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The National League Wild Card-leading Milwaukee Brewers will send Ben Sheets to the mound this afternoon in the second test of a three-game series versus the Chicago Cubs at Miller Park.

Sheets has been bothered by a sore elbow since leaving his last start on September 17 at Chicago after just two innings. He gave up a home run and struck out a pair of batters in the 6-2 win and is 13-8 with a 2.98 earned run average in 30 starts this season.

The right-hander and 2008 All-Star Game starter, who had a bullpen session on Thursday, is only 3-5 in his last 10 trips to the mound. Sheets is also 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA in four outings versus the Cubs this season and 10-8 through 26 lifetime matchups with Chicago.

Milwaukee hopes that Sheets can keep it on top in the wild card standings, as the Brewers sit one game ahead of the New York Mets for the final postseason spot in the National League. New York lost to Florida last night. In Friday's 5-1 triumph over the Cubs in the series opener, Rickie Weeks' three-run homer in the seventh inning broke open a one-run game and helped the Brewers to their fifth win in a row.

Corey Hart was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Seth McClung took the win with four scoreless innings of relief. Starter Jeff Suppan allowed a run on eight hits while striking out five in five frames.

The Brewers can capture the wild card with a win and a New York loss.

Chicago has already won the NL Central title, but has lost two straight and three of four games. Jim Edmonds was 2-for-4 with a homer for Chicago, which is a heavy favorite to represent the NL in the World Series.

Starting pitcher Ryan Dempster, who the Cubs slated as the starter for Game 1 in the NL Division Series, took a no-decision after yielding a run on four hits in five innings of work. Sean Marshall was saddled with the loss after allowing the go-ahead run in the sixth inning.

Ted Lilly will toe the rubber for the Cubs on Saturday and is 16-9 with a 4.17 ERA this season. Lilly has won three straight starts and topped St. Louis the last time out on September 20, allowing four runs in seven innings of his team's 5-4 win.

The left-hander, who is 9-4 on the road in 2008, owns a 1-2 record in six career games (five starts) against Milwaukee.

Chicago has won six of the last eight contests with Milwaukee, including a four-game sweep at Miller Park from July 28-31. The Cubs are 8-6 against the Brewers this season.
