Seattle Mariners (57-90) at LA Angels of Anaheim (91-57), 3:35 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Ervin Santana goes for win No. 16 this afternoon when the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim try to complete a four-game sweep of the lowly Seattle Mariners at Angel Stadium.

Santana has been a big reason behind the Angels fourth AL West crown in the last five years, as he is 15-6 with a 3.36 earned run average. Santana, though, lost for the first time in eight starts on Tuesday to the New York Yankees, as he surrendered six runs (five earned) and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings.

The 25-year-old righty is 5-2 lifetime against the Mariners with a 4.53 ERA in 10 starts.

Seattle will counter with 22-year-old flame-thrower Felix Hernandez, who has lost four of his last six decisions. Hernandez lost his second straight start on Tuesday against Texas, as he allowed six runs and six hits in 4 1/3 frames, dropping him to 9-10 on the season, while raising his ERA to 3.41.

Hernandez has faced the Halos 10 times in his young career and is 3-4 against them with a 4.83 ERA.

Los Angeles continued to tune-up for the postseason on Saturday, as Francisco Rodriguez worked around a leadoff double in the ninth to set a major league record with his 58th save of the season, helping the Angels to a 5-2 win.

The previous record for saves in a season was 57, set by Bobby Thigpen in 1990 while a member of the Chicago White Sox. Jon Garland (14-8) got the win after lasting six innings and yielding just two runs on six hits. He has now won his last three decisions.

Juan Rivera had three doubles and a two-run homer, notching his first career four-extra-base-hit game for the Halos, who have won four straight and six of seven. Rivera finished with three RBI, but left in the eighth inning with a strained right hip flexor. Brandon Wood knocked in a pair in the win.

Ryan Feierabend (1-3) took the loss after surrendering four runs on seven hits in five-plus innings of work.

Yuniesky Betancourt had an RBI for the M's, who have dropped three straight and five of seven overall. Adrian Beltre saw his 15-game hit streak come to an end, but drove in a run in defeat.

The Angels have won 10 of their 14 matchups with the Mariners this season, including six of the eight matchups in Anaheim.
