Toronto Blue Jays (69-66) at New York Yankees (72-63), 1:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Toronto Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay will try to win his fourth straight start when he takes the hill this afternoon in the finale of a three-game series against the New York Yankees in the Bronx.

Halladay, the 2003 AL Cy Young Award winner, extended his personal winning streak to three starts the last time out on August 26 at Tampa Bay. He limited the Rays to a pair of runs and six hits in six innings of a 6-2 win, improving to 8-3 over his previous 11 decisions. Halladay is 9-5 as the visitor in 2008.

The righty is also 16-9 with a 2.69 earned run average this season, and will face the Yankees for the fifth time this year. Halladay is 3-1 so far and 13-5 in 30 career games, 28 of which have been starts, in this series.

Halladay will try to help the Jays break even in the conclusion of a six-game road trip on Sunday. Toronto ended a three-game slide and improved to 2-3 on the trek after Saturday's 7-6 victory, as it battled back from a 6-2 deficit and took advantage of a miscue by Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano.

Brandon League struck out all three batters he faced in the seventh inning to earn the win for Toronto. John Parrish started for the Blue Jays and was tagged for four runs on seven hits in four innings for the no-decision. Vernon Wells homered and finished with two RBI for Toronto.

Joe Inglett and Jose Bautista both ended with a pair of RBI in the win.

New York, meanwhile, continues to flounder from the playoff picture, having lost three of its last five games to fall seven games off the AL Wild Card lead. Cano and Ivan Rodriguez both homered and finished with two hits, while Derek Jeter and Bobby Abreu had two hits apiece as well in defeat.

Yankees All-Star third baseman Alex Rodriguez is 4-for-21 with six strikeouts and four ground-ball double plays over his last five games. A-Rod grounded into a double play on Saturday with two runners on and no outs.

The Yanks, who are 2-3 on a six-game homestand and 40-30 as the host, will send struggling lefty Andy Pettitte to the hill on Sunday. Pettitte is just 1-3 over his previous six starts.

Pettitte last toed the rubber on August 26 versus Boston at home, but was rocked for six runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings of a 7-3 setback. The loss knocked Pettitte's mark to 13-10 with a 4.37 ERA in 28 starts this season.

A 1990 draft pick of the Yankees, Pettitte is 1-1 in two starts against Toronto this season. He is 17-10 with a 4.07 earned run average in 35 career games, 34 of which have been starts, against the Jays.

The 2008 season series between New York and Toronto is tied at 7-7.
