Philadelphia Phillies (74-62) at Chicago Cubs (85-51), 2:20 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Getting a chance to play everyday, Jayson Werth is making the most of it. The outfielder will try to guide the Philadelphia Phillies to a split of their four-game series with the Chicago Cubs this afternoon at Wrigley Field.

The right-handed hitting Werth entered the year in a platoon at right field with Geoff Jenkins, but with Jenkins currently sidelined with a strained right hip flexor, Werth has been the everyday right fielder.

He is hitting .500 (10-for-20) over his last six games and connected on two homers and drove in four runs in Saturday's 5-2 victory over the Cubs, upping his career-high homer total to 20 in 108 games this year.

Jimmy Rollins had three hits and Ryan Howard added a solo shot, his MLB-best 37th of the season, for the Phillies, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Howard also improved his NL-leading RBI total to 113.

Brett Myers improved to 5-1 since being recalled from the minors in late July and pitched the Phils to within one game of the first-place Mets in the National League East after New York lost to Florida on Saturday. Brad Lidge tossed a 1-2-3 ninth for his 32nd save in 32 opportunities.

Geovany Soto and Aramis Ramirez each drove in a run for Chicago, which had won the first two games of this four-game set and seven in a row overall. Ramirez RBI gave him 100 on the season, the third straight season he has reached that mark.

Ted Lilly took the loss, tagged for three runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings for the Cubs, who still sport the best record in baseball at 85-51, as well as the NL's top home mark at 51-20.

Chicago, though, did see its lead in the NL Central dip to 5 1/2 games over Milwaukee, which bested Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Carlos Zambrano will try to get back on track when he starts for the Cubs today. The right-hander has an 8.72 earned run average over his last four starts, going 1-1 in that span. He faced the Pirates on Tuesday and walked away with a no-decision despite allowing six runs on eight hits and four walks over just 4 1/3 innings.

It marked the second time in his last four outings he went just 4 1/3, and the 27-year-old has walked 13 batters in his last three starts.

Zambrano, who is 13-5 with a 3.53 ERA, is an outstanding 7-1 at home this year and holds a 2.96 ERA in 14 starts at Wrigley.

He lost to the Phillies on April 11 of this year and is 3-3 lifetime against them with a 3.38 ERA in seven starts.

The 45-year-old Jamie Moyer will also look to rebound this afternoon after having his streak of allowing three runs or fewer in a start halted at 14 straight outings last time out.

Moyer, drafted by the Cubs in the sixth round of the 1984 draft, was pounded for six runs on nine hits over just three innings on Tuesday versus the Mets in his shortest outing of the year. However, the Phils rallied in the game to take their hurler off the hook.

The left-hander is 11-7 with a 3.81 ERA this year and 2-0 with a 4.34 ERA in five career starts against his former team. That includes a no-decision versus the Cubs on April 13.

The Phillies took two of three games from Chicago in Philadelphia back in April and are 16-10 against the Cubs since the start of the 2005 campaign.
