Chicago White Sox (61-48) at Kansas City Royals (51-60), 2:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox wrap up their 10-game road trip this afternoon with the rubber match of their three-game series against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

In the second game of this series on Saturday, Billy Butler homered and scored twice, while Esteban German drove in three runs to lead the Royals to a 9-7 victory.

Five Royals had three-hits on the day, including Miguel Olivo, Ross Gload and Mike Aviles. Eight of the nine starters for Kansas City scored a run and Butler finished 3-for-5.

Kyle Davies (5-2) settled down after a rough beginning and pitched 5 1/3 solid innings on three runs and five hits, fanning two and walking one. It was the 24-year-old's second consecutive win against a first-place team after giving up one run in six innings versus Tampa Bay on July 27.

Joakim Soria pitched 1 2/3 innings for his 31st save of the season to give Kansas City its fifth win in six games.

Mark Buehrle (8-10) had his shortest outing since the season opener against Cleveland, lasting only 4 1/3 innings on eight runs and an astounding 14 hits while striking out just one. Kansas City hitters went 14-for-27 off him on the day.

Despite the loss Chicago is still a half-game up in the AL Central on the Minnesota Twins, who lost to Cleveland on Saturday.

Going for the White Sox today will be 24-year-old lefty Clayton Richard, who is still searching for his first big league win. Richard entered the loss column for the first time in the majors on Tuesday, as the Twins reached him for five runs and seven hits in 4 2/3 frames, dropping him to 0-1 with a 9.35 ERA.

This will be just his third major league start and his first against the Royals.

Kansas City will counter with righty Zack Greinke, who is 8-7 with a 3.98 ERA. Greinke picked up the win on Monday in Oakland, as he held the A's to two runs and seven hits in 7 1/3 frames.

Greinke lost to the White Sox the last time he faced them and is just 2-8 lifetime against them with a 5.10 ERA in 16 games, 13 of which have been starts.

Chicago won two of three tests from the Royals in Kansas City from July 8-10.
