Detroit Tigers (48-47) at Baltimore Orioles (45-49), 7:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers try to continue their recent dominance of the Baltimore Orioles this evening when they resume their four-game series with them at Camden Yards.

Detroit won its final five games against the O's last season and continued that trend in the opener of this set on Thursday, as Brandon Inge belted a key two-run homer, lifting the Tigers to a 6-5 victory.

Gary Sheffield also hit a two-run homer while Marcus Thames added a solo blast for the Tigers, who won for the seventh time in their last 10 tries in Baltimore.

Kenny Rogers (7-6) earned the win after he allowed four runs on 11 hits through six innings.

Melvin Mora homered and finished with two RBI for Baltimore, which has lost three straight and eight of its last nine games. Six of its last eight losses, though, have come by one run.

Garrett Olson (6-5) started on the hill for Baltimore and allowed five runs on seven hits in six innings with five strikeouts and four walks.

Detroit will pin its hopes tonight on rookie right-hander Armando Galarraga, who is 7-3 with a 3.27 earned run average, but was winless in his final four starts before the break. Galarraga, who has never faced Baltimore, was tagged with the loss last Friday against Minnesota, surrendering a pair of runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings of a 3-2 setback.

The Orioles will turn to righty Jeremy Guthrie, who is 5-7 with a 3.49 ERA this season. Guthrie did not get a decision last Thursday in Toronto, despite allowing just one earned run and four hits in seven innings of his team's 6-5 loss.

Guthrie will be making his first start against the Tigers tonight, but has faced them three times out of the bullpen without recording a decision. He has pitched to a 3.86 ERA in those outings, however.

Detroit could have All-Star third baseman Carlos Guillen back in the lineup tonight. Guillen missed Thursday's opener to be with his wife for the birth of the couple's son.
