LA Angels of Anaheim (53-35) at Texas Rangers (46-43), 8:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - All-Star Ervin Santana goes for win No. 10 this evening when the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim open a four-game series with Texas at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Santana learned on Sunday that he will be headed to his first Mid-Summer Classic and will be joined by fellow rotation member Joe Saunders, as well as closer Francisco Rodriguez.

The 25-year-old Santana, who is 9-3 with a 3.28 ERA this season, received a no-decision on Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics, as the righty allowed a pair of runs and eight hits in seven innings of his team's 5-3 win.

Santana defeated the Rangers earlier in the year and is 5-4 lifetime against them with a 6.44 ERA in 11 starts.

Los Angeles took two of three over the weekend from the Toronto Blue Jays, including a 7-1 win in Sunday's rubber match at Angel Stadium. Jon Garland allowed one run in the complete game victory, and Jeff Mathis provided the offense, as he went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in.

Garland (8-5) gave up six hits and no walks in his nine-inning effort, and struck out three while throwing just 98 pitches. It was Garland's 100th career win, ninth career complete game and first complete game this season.

Garret Anderson finished 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, while Juan Rivera hit a solo homer for the Angels, who have won four of five, and finished up their six-game homestand with a 4-2 mark.

Texas, meanwhile, also enters on a winning note after David Murphy went 3- for-6 with a three-run home run to help the Rangers squeak by the Baltimore Orioles, 11-10, on Sunday in the rubber match of a three-game set at Camden Yards.

The day four offensive players for the Rangers were named to the All-Star team, the club rattled off 14 hits, including three apiece from Ian Kinsler and Ramon Vazquez.

Kevin Millwood (6-4) won his seventh straight start against the Orioles despite being touched for five runs -- three earned -- on nine hits through five innings for Texas, which has won five of its last seven. C.J. Wilson served up two homers in the ninth but still came away with his 21st save.

Kinsler, who is riding an 18-game hitting streak, will be joined at Yankee Stadium on July 15 by outfielders Josh Hamilton and Milton Bradley and shortstop Michael Young, who was scratched before yesterday's tilt with an ongoing groin issue. Bradley also left Sunday's contest with left knee tendinitis.

Heading to the hill for the Rangers tonight will be 24-year-old righty Luis Mendoza, who is 1-2 on the year with a save and a 4.64 ERA. Mendoza did not get a decision against the Yankees on Wednesday, as he allowed six runs (one earned) and four hits in just 4 2/3 innings.

Mendoza did not get a decision in his only other start against the Angels.

The Angels have own three of five this season from the Rangers, including both contests in Arlington.
