(Sports Network) - The National League West-leading Arizona Diamondbacks will try to win back-to-back games for the first time in nearly two weeks tonight, as they continue a four-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Chase Field.

Arizona hasn't won two straight since June 18-19, its final two home tests before the club began what ended up being a 2-7 road trip. The Diamondbacks returned to the comforts of the desert on Monday and defeated the Brewers, 6-3, running their home record to a solid 25-15 as compared to a 17-26 mark on the road.

Mark Reynolds went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs on the strength of two doubles and a solo home run. The third baseman leads Arizona with 17 homers and 52 runs batted in.

Stephen Drew had two doubles, Conor Jackson and Justin Upton both had an RBI, while Augie Ojeda tripled and scored twice for the Diamondbacks, who moved a game above .500 (42-41) and lead the Dodgers by 3 1/2 games in the division.

Arizona outfielder Eric Byrnes exited Monday's victory with a strained left hamstring and is headed to the disabled list. The ailment comes a week after Byrnes was activated from the 15-day DL due to a right hamstring injury.

Byrnes suffered the injury when he attempted to steal third base in the second inning. He pulled up on the play, never reached his destination and was tagged out. He limped into the clubhouse and was replaced in the lineup.

J.J. Hardy went 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI for the Brewers, who have dropped two in a row and four of their last five contests overall. Prince Fielder and Gabe Kapler had an RBI each in defeat, as Milwaukee fell to 3-4 on a 10-game road trip.

Arizona starts Randy Johnson tonight, and the tall left-hander will be glad to see the month of July. Johnson went 0-5 in June with a 6.82 earned run average and hasn't won since May 18, a span of seven starts.

The 44-year-old didn't pitch too poorly last time out, allowing two runs on eight hits over six innings in Boston on Wednesday. That, after he allowed a total of 14 earned runs in his pervious two starts.

Johnson is 4-6 with a 4.94 ERA on the season and 18-8 with five complete games, two shutouts and a 3.46 ERA in 31 career starts versus the Brewers, who he faced on June 3. He took the loss in that one, starting his current skid, allowing four runs (3 earned) on six hits over 6 1/3 innings while also striking out eight.

Jeff Suppan counters for the Brewers and has dropped his last two starts. He faced the Orioles on June 20 and was rocked for six runs (3 earned) on seven hits over just 1 2/3 innings before improving a little five days later. Against Atlanta, he right-hander gave up four runs on nine hits over six frames.

The 33-year-old is 4-6 with a 4.05 ERA and 2-3 with a 3.86 ERA in seven career starts versus Arizona. Suppan got a no-decision when he faced the Diamondbacks on June 2, allowing three runs on seven hits over seven innings. Reynolds drove in a run in that contest.

Milwaukee swept a three-game series versus Arizona at Miller Park from June 2-4 this season. The Brewers are 9-3 in their last 12 encounters with Arizona.
