(Sports Network) - Right-hander Bronson Arroyo returns after the worst outing of his major-league career today when the Cincinnati Reds head to Progressive Field for the finale of their all-Ohio interleague series with the Cleveland Indians.

Arroyo, a member of the 2004 World Series championship team in Boston and a 14-game winner with the Reds in 2006, was shelled for 11 hits and 10 runs in just an inning on Tuesday in Toronto, coming out on the short end of a 14-1 loss to the Blue Jays.

It marked the fifth straight start in which Arroyo has come away without a victory, stretching back to his last win on May 28 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Since, then Key West, Florida native has allowed 37 hits and 25 runs in 22 1/3 innings.

He is 2-2 lifetime against the Indians in four games - three starts - and had given up 16 hits and nine earned runs in 21 2/3 innings.

For Cleveland, young southpaw Aaron Laffey faces the Reds for the first time in his brief career.

A 16th-round draft pick in 2003, Laffey reached the majors in 2007 and made nine starts, winning four times and posting a 4.56 earned run average in 49 1/3 innings.

He's returned with success this season and has won four of his last six decisions after an 0-2 start. His last win came June 12 against Minnesota, when he allowed five hits and a run in six innings of the Indians' 12-2 triumph.

Laffey is 4-2 in seven homes starts this season, allowing just seven earned runs in 45 1/3 innings.

On Saturday, Paul Bako hit a three-run double while Johnny Cueto and the Cincinnati bullpen blanked the Indians, 5-0.

Cueto (6-8) was not overpowering but kept the Indians off the scoreboard through 6 1/3 innings of work. The rookie gave up five hits and three walks, while striking out two to snap a personal three-start losing streak.

Joey Votto and Jay Bruce each recorded two hits, while Adam Dunn blasted a solo home run for the Reds, who had lost four of their previous five.

Cleveland's Paul Byrd (3-9) continued his struggles, as the veteran allowed four runs on six hits with three walks and four strikeouts in a six-inning start. He has lost six of his last seven decisions and failed to extend the Indians' winning streak to three.

Casey Blake went 3-for-3, but the Indians' offense was 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position, leaving 12 runners on base.

Cincinnati swept a three-game set from the Indians earlier in the season.
