Baltimore Orioles (41-38) at Washington Nationals (32-50), 1:35 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Jeremy Guthrie tries to win back-to-back starts for the first time this season when the Baltimore Orioles play the rubber match of their three-game series with the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park.

Guthrie defeated the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, as he allowed four runs and seven hits in six innings to up his mark to 4-7 on the season to go along with a 3.64 earned run average.

The 29-year-old righty was a tough-luck loser to the Nats earlier in the season and is 0-1 lifetime against them with a 1.29 ERA in three starts.

Washington will counter with righty Jason Bergmann, who is just 1-5 with a 4.60 ERA. Bergmann received a no-decision on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, as he surrendered a run and six hits in seven innings of a 3-2 loss.

Bergmann, who is 0-2 at home this season, has never faced the Orioles.

In the second game of this set on Saturday, Garrett Olson allowed just one run in five innings to go along with an RBI and a run scored at the plate, as Baltimore rolled to a 9-1 win.

Olson (6-3) pitched five innings, all before a one hour, three minute rain delay, striking out five and walking three with six hits for the Orioles, who got revenge for a series opening loss to the Nationals.

Adam Jones recorded a hit and a run in each of his first three at bats while Ramon Hernandez and Luke Scott each homered for Baltimore.

Washington's John Lannan (4-9) also lasted five innings and allowed seven runs -- four earned -- on seven hits and a walk while striking out just one batter.

Christian Guzman was 2-for-4 with the lone run scored for the Nationals, who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Washington has also dropped five of its last seven at home.

Baltimore took two of three in the Battle of the Beltway back in May. Washington, though, won four of the six games in the series a year ago.
