Milwaukee Brewers (43-35) at Minnesota Twins (43-36), 8:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Minnesota Twins try to stretch their winning streak to 10 games tonight, when they begin a three-game interleague series with the Milwaukee Brewers at the Metrodome.

The Twins have ripped off nine wins in a row, a run that includes sweeps of National League opponents Washington, Arizona and San Diego, and are an ML- best 12-3 in interleague play this season. That winning streak also has the Twins just a half-game back of the Chicago White Sox for first place in the AL Central.

Minnesota is on its longest winning streak since taking 11 straight from June 22-July 3, 2006 and it hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of its last nine victories.

The Twins completed their sweep of the Padres with a 4-3 victory on Thursday. Justin Morneau went 3-for-4, homered and knocked in three runs, as he owns a hit in 13 of his last 14 games. He is batting .375 (21-for-56) in that span with two homers and 18 RBI.

Brian Buscher went 2-for-4 and knocked in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning for Minnesota, which begins a nine-game homestand tonight.

The Twins send Nick Blackburn to the hill and he was won his last two starts, allowing just three runs on 10 hits in that time with eight strikeouts. He faced Arizona on Saturday, yielding a run on three hits over seven frames without a walk.

The 26-year-old right-hander is 6-4 with a 3.68 earned run average and a solid 4-2 with a 2.20 ERA in seven home starts this year. Blackburn has never faced Milwaukee before.

He is countered by Milwaukee's Seth McClung, who pitched the finale of a three-game set when these clubs met from June 13-15. McClung picked up his first win over the Twins with that outing, giving up two runs on four hits over six frames. No Twins batter had more than one hit off him, with Jason Kubel doing the most damage with a homer.

That contest was Minnesota's last loss before its current streak.

Overall, the righty is 1-2 with a 7.53 ERA in four games -- including three starts -- against the Brewers and 0-2 with a 12.27 ERA in two starts at the Metrodome.

McClung has made six straight starts following 11 relief outings and is 4-2 with a 3.93 ERA as a starter. He has allowed more than two runs in just one of his six starts and defeated Baltimore on Saturday by holding the club to two runs on three hits and five walks while fanning six.

The Brewers had a four-game win streak ended on Wednesday, as they fell to the Braves, 4-2. Rickie Weeks was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI.

Milwaukee opened a 10-game road trip with that three-game set and bring a hot- swinging Prince Fielder into this game. Fielder is hitting .313 (47-for-150) since May 13, adding 11 homers and 20 RBI in 40 games to lift his average from .241 to .279.

Also, J.J. Hardy, who didn't play on Wednesday, has an eight-game hitting streak. He is hitting .355 (11-for-31) on the run with a homer and six RBI.

The Twins took two of three when the clubs met in Milwaukee after splitting six games last year. The Brewers are 6-6 versus the AL this season.
