(Sports Network) - Left-hander Wandy Rodriguez takes the mound for the Houston Astros tonight in the finale of an all-Lone Star State interleague series with the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

The teams split the initial two games of this series, but the Astros made more news off the field when pitcher Shawn Chacon was suspended indefinitely on Wednesday after a physical confrontation with General Manager Ed Wade.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Chacon, who was recently demoted to the bullpen, exploded in the clubhouse before the game and had to be pulled away from Wade by several teammates.

Rodriguez has defeated Texas both times he's faced them in his brief career, allowing 11 hits and six runs with 10 strikeouts in 11 1/3 innings.

He's gone three starts without a win recently, however, losing twice and picking up a no-decision since defeating Pittsburgh on June 3.

In his last start, which came Saturday at Tampa Bay, Rodriguez allowed five hits and two runs over 5 2/3 innings of Houston's 4-3 loss.

For the Rangers, veteran Kevin Millwood looks to continue a recent run of success when he starts tonight.

The 33-year-old North Carolina native has gone six starts since his last loss, which came May 5 at Seattle.

He's won three times during the subsequent stretch, including an 8-7 defeat of the New York Mets on June 15 in which he was touched for five hits and two runs in six innings.

Millwood is 6-3 with two complete games and a 3.48 earned run average in 10 lifetime starts against the Astros.

On Wednesday, Max Ramirez collected the first two hits of his major-league career -- including a go-ahead two-run home run -- as the Rangers edged the Astros, 3-2.

Ian Kinsler went 2-for-4 with a triple and run scored for the Rangers, winners in three of their last four. Frank Catalanotto also had a pair of hits and scored a run, while Ramon Vazquez knocked in the other Texas run.

Luis Mendoza (1-2) tossed three scoreless innings to earn the win in relief of Scott Feldman, who allowed two runs on six hits in four innings and was lifted after 99 pitches. C.J. Wilson survived a rocky ninth for his 16th save.

The Rangers were without star slugger Josh Hamilton, who got the night off with left knee inflammation.

Michael Bourn's two-run homer provided the scoring for the Astros, who had a two-game win streak snapped and fell for the 10th time in 13 games. Roy Oswalt (6-8) tossed seven strong innings -- allowing three runs on seven hits -- but dropped the decision.

Texas took two of three from the Astros earlier in the season and has won seven of the last 11 matchups in the series.
