San Francisco Giants (34-44) at Cleveland Indians (35-43), 7:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Cleveland Indians have a strong chance of ending their current losing streak this evening, when surging starter Cliff Lee takes the ball in the finale of a three-game interleague series versus the San Francisco Giants at Progressive Field.

Lee has won his last four decisions and is unbeaten over the previous six trips to the mound. He last took the hill on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Chavez Ravine, hurling 7 1/3 innings of one-run ball in a 6-4 win for a no-decision. Lee has pitched at least five innings in each of his starts this season.

The left-hander is 3-0 with a 2.00 earned run average in five starts at home this season. Lee has also held the opposition to a .246 batting average over that stretch. He faced the Giants for the first time in his career on June 12 of the 2005 season, when he gave up three runs -- one earned -- in seven innings of a 5-3 decision for the win.

Cleveland suffered its third straight loss and sixth in eight tries following Wednesday's 4-1 defeat in the second test of this series with San Francisco. Starting pitcher Jeremy Sowers kept the Indians in the game through seven innings, but allowed three runs on nine hits and five walks.

Jamey Carroll had two of Cleveland's six hits on the night, while Kelly Shoppach doubled and scored the only run on a Shin-Soo Choo pinch-hit RBI single. The Indians currently sit last in the AL Central, and are 0-2 so far on a six-game homestand and 20-20 as the host this season.

Giants starter Barry Zito put together his best and longest outing of the season, tossing 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball on four hits without issuing a walk. The former Cy Young Award winner struck out four in the win. Zito continues to lead the majors in losses with 11 in 16 starts.

Jose Castillo had three hits -- including a homer -- and scored twice, while Aaron Rowand had a two-run single for the Giants, who have won two straight to improve 3-2 on a nine-game road trip and 20-20 away from the bay in 2008. John Bowker added a solo home run in the win for San Francisco.

The Giants will visit the nearby Oakland Athletics for three games after their set against Cleveland. Matt Cain will face the Indians in Thursday's series finale, and is 4-5 with a 4.31 ERA in 16 starts this season.

Cain has won two of his last three starts, including last Friday's performance at Kansas City. He was reached for four runs -- three earned -- and five hits in eight innings of a 9-4 victory. The 246-pound right-hander has never pitched against Cleveland.

This is San Francisco's first-ever visit to Cleveland, but the Indians swept a three-game set by the bay back in 2005.
