(Sports Network) - Right-hander Roy Halladay takes the mound for the first time since a scary moment five days ago when the Toronto Blue Jays host the Cincinnati Reds in game two of a three-game interleague series at Rogers Centre.
Halladay allowed six hits in seven scoreless innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 20, but left the game after he was hit in the side of the head by a line drive off the bat of Nyjer Morgan.
He left the game immediately and subsequently had a CAT scan done, but no broken bones were detected and he said he suffered no headaches or other ill effects in the following days.
The 31-year-old, who's won four of his last five decisions and defeated the Reds in his lone career matchup with them, is also 4-2 in six home starts this season with a 3.13 earned run average.
For Cincinnati, slumping right-hander Aaron Harang gets the call for his second career meeting with Toronto.
The 30-year-old Californian was on the short end the last time against the Blue Jays, allowing five hits and two runs over seven innings.
He's struggled mightily in 2008 as well, most recently dropping five of six decisions since an 8-7 defeat of Florida on May 12.
In his last start, on June 19 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Harang was touched for 10 hits and five runs in five innings of a 7-4 loss.
Overall, he's allowed 119 hits and 51 earned runs in 106 innings.
On Tuesday, Scott Rolen homered and knocked in four runs as the Blue Jays used a six-run first inning and a five-run second to power their way past the Reds, 14-1.
Every Blue Jays starter had a hit by the fifth inning, and the team recorded season-highs in runs and hits with 14 and 22, respectively. Seven Blue Jays recorded both an RBI and a run scored in the win.
Marco Scutaro and Alex Rios each had four hits, while Lyle Overbay went 3- for-4 with three runs scored. Gregg Zaun homered and recorded three RBI.
Not to be overshadowed by the offense was A.J. Burnett (7-7), who rebounded after a terrible start in Milwaukee by throwing eight outstanding innings, giving up only one run on four hits, seven strikeouts and three walks.
Bronson Arroyo (4-7) took the loss on the shortest outing of his career, going only one-plus inning and giving up 10 runs on 11 hits, one strikeout and one walk.
This outing was shorter than the right-hander's effort in a 14-7 loss against Atlanta on May 4, when he gave up seven runs and seven hits in 1 1/3 innings.
Toronto took two of three from the Reds the last time these teams met back in 2003.
