(Sports Network) - Manny Parra looks to continue his recent success, as he leads the Milwaukee Brewers into action today against the Baltimore Orioles in the finale of a three-game interleague series at Miller Park.
After a slow start to the season, Parra appears to have hit his stride, winning four straight starts and five consecutive decisions. He owns a 4-0 mark with a 2.49 ERA over his last four starts and hasn't lost since dropping a 6-2 decision to the Houston Astros on May 3rd.
The left-hander is coming off an outstanding performance, as he tossed seven scoreless innings in a 7-0 blanking of the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday. He struck out five and walked four in his first career interleague appearance.
Parra has never faced the Orioles in his brief major league career.
Getting the nod for Baltimore today will be Garret Olson, who is looking to rebound from back-to-back poor starts. In his most recent outing, the left- hander was tagged for four earned runs and six hits in just 4 2/3 innings of work against the Houston Astros on Tuesday. He fanned four and walked one in receiving a no-decision.
Olson, who is 2-2 with a 6.23 ERA in five road starts this season, has never faced Milwaukee.
On Saturday, Seth McClung was solid on the mound and Corey Hart hit a two-run homer, as the Brewers edged the Orioles, 3-2.
Brewers, who have won five of their last six games. Prince Fielder knocked in the other run for Milwaukee, while Craig Counsell finished 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored.
McClung (5-3) gave up two runs on three hits with five walks and a season-high six strikeouts over a season-high 6 2/3 innings.
Oscar Salazar clubbed a two-run homer for the Orioles, who watched a four-game winning streak come to an end. Baltimore generated only four hits, including doubles by Brian Roberts and Melvin Mora.
Daniel Cabrera (5-3) went six innings and allowed three runs on seven hits to absorb the loss. He also fanned a season-high eight batters and walked three.
Milwaukee and Baltimore are meeting for the first time since the Orioles won two of three games at home from the Brewers in June of 2003. Baltimore is 8-3 in interleague play this season, while the Brewers are 5-6 against the American League.
