Los Angeles Dodgers (32-38) at Cincinnati Reds (33-39), 7:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Right-hander Bronson Arroyo hopes to reverse recent fortunes against the Dodgers when the Cincinnati Reds host Los Angeles tonight in game two of a three-game National League series at Great American Ball Park.

Arroyo, who's 1-2 in seven career appearances against L.A., got a no-decision against the Dodgers on May 19 in California after allowing nine hits and three earned runs over just five innings in the Reds' 6-5 loss.

He's 2-1 in five starts since, having allowed 29 hits and 12 earned runs in 27 1/3 innings.

Arroyo, in his third season with the Reds, is 1-3 in seven home starts in 2008.

Ex-Boston Red Sox starter and closer Derek Lowe moves up one slot in the Dodgers rotation tonight in place of injured teammate Hiroki Kuroda.

Kuroda, who was initially slated to start this evening's tilt, was sent home from Cincinnati on Tuesday after experiencing soreness in his right shoulder. In 14 starts this season, the Japanese right-hander is 3-6 with a 4.04 earned run average.

Lowe, a former eighth-round selection of the Seattle Mariners, is 2-1 in three lifetime meetings with the Reds, having allowed nine hits and six runs in 16 2/3 innings.

He's struggled on the road this season, however. In eight away starts, Lowe has gone 0-4 with a 4.96 ERA in 45 1/3 innings.

In Tuesday's series opener, Chad Billingsley threw six-plus solid innings and Jeff Kent finished 3-for-4 with a run batted in as the Dodgers edged Cincinnati, 3-1.

Billingsley (5-7) gave up just one run on five hits with three walks and struck out nine.

Russell Martin and Juan Pierre each added RBI doubles for the Dodgers, who snapped a five-game losing streak.

For the Reds, Johnny Cueto (5-7) was solid over seven innings, as he gave up only five hits and three walks but allowed two runs to take the loss.

Joey Votto finished with two hits while Javier Valentin had the sole RBI for the Reds, who have lost three in a row.

Cincinnati's Ken Griffey Jr. was honored before the game for becoming just the sixth major league player to hit 600 career home runs, a feat he accomplished on June 9 at Florida's Dolphin Stadium. He did not start Tuesday's test because of sickness, but struck out in a pinch-hit appearance.

The Dodgers have won five of six meetings with the Reds this season and are 19-6 in the series since the start of the 2005 campaign.
