Atlanta Braves (34-36) at Colorado Rockies (28-41), 8:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Colorado Rockies try for their third straight win this evening, when they play a makeup game with the Atlanta Braves at Coors Field.

This game was originally supposed to be played back on April 10, but was postponed due to snow. The Rockies had won the first three games of that series before the snowout, outscoring the Braves 18-10 during the set.

Since then things haven't gone as planned for the defending National League champions, who are 13 games under .500 and in last place in the NL West.

However, the Rockies have been better of late and took two of three games over the weekend from the Chicago White Sox. On Sunday, Scott Podsednik had two hits and drove in a pair of runs, lifting Colorado to a 5-3 win in the finale of the interleague set at U.S. Cellular Field.

Brad Hawpe and Chris Iannetta each hit solo home runs while Matt Holliday drove in the other run for the Rockies, who have won four of their last six and eight of their last 11.

Aaron Cook (10-3) got the win after he gave up three runs on 10 hits in six innings of work.

Getting the call for the Rockies tonight will be righty Ubaldo Jimenez, who is 1-6 with a 4.93 earned run average. His only win, though, came at the expense of the Braves back on April 8.

Since then Jimenez has dropped five consecutive decisions and the Rockies have posted wins in just two of his 12 starts. He received a no-decision on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants despite throwing seven scoreless innings in a 1-0 Colorado win.

Jimenez has faced the Braves twice in his young career and is 1-1 with a 7.59 ERA against Atlanta.

Like he did back in April, Jair Jurrjens will oppose Jimenez this evening. Jurrjens was on the losing end to the Rockies that night, serving up four runs and nine hits in seven innings.

Jurrjens, who has allowed 14 runs over his last three starts spanning 15 innings, hasn't pitched since June 5, when he picked up the win over the Florida Marlins to run his record to 6-3 to go along with a 3.77 ERA.

He was supposed to pitch on Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs, but was scratched after twisting his ankle on some steps outside of the clubhouse at Wrigley Field the previous night.

Atlanta was denied a sweep in its three-game interleague series with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim over the weekend, as it dropped a 2-0 decision Sunday at Angel Stadium. Yunel Escobar collected a pair of hits for the Braves, who have lost seven of their last nine games.

Braves starter Jorge Campillo (2-1) went the distance in the loss, giving up seven hits and two runs with seven strikeouts and no walks.
