Colorado Rockies (26-40) at Chicago White Sox (37-29), 8:11 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Young Chicago hurler Gavin Floyd will try to win his fourth straight start when he takes the mound tonight in the first of three straight interleague games versus the Colorado Rockies at U.S. Cellular Field.

Floyd has won three consecutive trips to the hill and is 4-1 over the past five starts. He has lasted at least six innings in each of those appearances, while shutting down Minnesota the last time out on Sunday at home. Floyd allowed two runs and six hits in seven frames of a 12-2 victory.

The right-hander and former first-round draft pick of Philadelphia faced the Rockies once before on April 25 of the 2006 season as a member of the Phillies. Floyd was reached for seven runs -- six earned -- in just 3 1/3 innings during a 7-6 setback.

Chicago enters tonight's opener after getting swept in a three-game set by the Detroit Tigers. The White Sox lost in heartbreaking fashion on Thursday, as they watched Miguel Cabrera belt a game-winning home run in the bottom of the ninth to give Detroit a 2-1 win at Comerica Park.

Octavio Dotel (3-3) faced two batters in the ninth, the second being Cabrera, who took a 2-1 pitch over the wall in right-center. Mark Buehrle was solid through eight for the Sox, yielding one run on seven hits and a walk while striking out six.

Chicago had won seven straight prior to the sweep. It still has an eight-game home winning streak intact. The Sox haven't won nine straight home games since a 10-game tear from April 15-May 4, 2006.

Colorado, meanwhile, had a two-game winning streak stopped on Thursday, dropping a 10-7 decision to the San Francisco Giants at Coors Field.

Greg Reynolds (1-4) was ripped for eight runs on 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings for the Rockies, who lost for only the second time in their last seven tries. Yorvit Torrealba went 3-for-5 with two runs batted in, and Garrett Atkins had a three-run double for Colorado.

The Rockies will send disappointing starter Jeff Francis to the mound on Friday, and he is just 2-6 with a 5.45 ERA in 13 starts this season. Francis is 2-4 over his previous eight outings, having lost the last time out on June 8 versus Milwaukee.

Francis allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings of a 3-2 setback at Coors Field. He tossed seven shutout innings in a win at Los Angeles the start before.

The left-hander, who went 17-9 a year ago, faced the White Sox once before on June 8 of the 2005 season. Francis was saddled with the loss after yielding five runs and 12 hits in six frames of a 15-5 drubbing.

Chicago swept a three-game series from the Rockies in 2005.

The White Sox are 107-89 all-time in interleague play, while the Rockies have posted a 78-88 mark against the Junior Circuit.
