San Francisco Giants (29-37) at Colorado Rockies (26-39), 3:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Colorado Rockies will try to post their first home sweep of the San Francisco Giants in over six years this afternoon, when the two clubs wrap a three-game series at Coors Field.

After winning the series opener, 10-5, on Tuesday, the Rockies squeaked out a 1-0 win last night on Yorvit Torrealba's pinch-hit sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning. The catcher lofted a shallow fly to left and the Giants' Fred Lewis fielded the out before gunning home to try and get a racing Garrett Atkins.

Lewis' throw, though, was slightly off target, and San Francisco catcher Bengie Molina dropped the offering, allowing Atkins to slide in safely.

Colorado's Ubaldo Jimenez yielded just four hits, a walk and no runs in his seven-inning start, while Taylor Buchholz and Brian Fuentes (1-2) finished off the shutout with a scoreless inning apiece to give the Rockies their sixth win in seven games.

The club will now try to sweep San Francisco in three games at home for the first time since May 24-26, 2002. The Rockies did take all three games of a series in the Bay Area from May 25-27 of last year.

Giants ace Tim Lincecum matched Jimenez inning-for-inning on Wednesday, hurling seven scoreless frames of six-hit ball. He struck out nine and walked three, lowering his ERA to a miniscule 1.99 on the season.

Lewis went 2-for-4 with a steal in the Giants' second straight setback after four consecutive victories. Ray Durham had a hit in the loss and needs just two more to reach 2,000 for his career.

San Francisco is a whopping 0-for-18 with runners in scoring position over the two games in this series.

If the Rockies are to post a sweep of the Giants, they'll need Greg Reynolds to pitch today like he did last time out. In what was his sixth career start, Reynolds posted the first victory of his big-league career after holding the Milwaukee Brewers to a pair of runs on four hits in six innings on Saturday.

It marked just the second time this year that the right-hander has allowed fewer than four earned runs in a start, and he is 1-3 with a 5.24 earned run average since being called to the majors. The Giants have scored just four runs in his three losses this season.

The 6-foot-7 Reynolds will be facing the Giants for the first time in his career.

The Giants turn to Jonathan Sanchez, who is 5-3 with a 3.70 ERA. The lefty has gone at least six innings in each of his last five starts and hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of those outings.

Sanchez has won his last three starts and shut out Washington over seven innings on Saturday, allowing four hits and two walks.

The 25-year-old has faced the Rockies twice this year and hasn't posted a decision in either outing. He gave up just two runs in 6 1/3 innings of a road start on May 21 after having allowed only two runs in 5 2/3 frames against Colorado on April 30.

Matt Holliday has two hits and an RBI in six at-bats this year against Sanchez. Last year's National League batting champion is 1-for-7 in two games since returning from the disabled list due to a strained left hamstring.

Todd Helton, meanwhile, is just 1-for-6 with three strikeouts versus Sanchez this year and 2-for-13 (.154) with five strikeouts in his career against him.

Colorado and San Francisco have now split eight meetings this year.
