Philadelphia Phillies (39-27) at Florida Marlins (35-29), 7:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The last time Philadelphia Phillies starter Cole Hamels faced the Florida Marlins, he was rocked for seven runs and eight hits. Tonight, Hamels will try to tame the Phillies' young NL East rivals in the second test of a three-game series at Dolphin Stadium.

Hamels took the hill versus Florida on May 31 at hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park and lasted just 5 2/3 innings. The seven runs and three homers he allowed were both season highs and pushed Hamels' career mark against the Marlins to 2-3 with a 5.46 earned run average in five appearances.

The left-hander, however, was brilliant his last time out on Thursday versus Cincinnati, when he tossed a three-hit shutout. Hamels struck out four batters and walked three in the 5-0 outcome to win for the fourth time in five decisions. It was his second shutout of the season and his career.

Philadelphia had its lead over the Marlins in the NL East trimmed to three games after Tuesday's 5-4 loss in the opener of this series. Jimmy Rollins and Pat Burrell both homered for Philadelphia, which saw its four-game win streak come to an end.

Phillies starter Brett Myers continued to struggle, as he surrendered five runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings to absorb the loss.

The Phillies are 3-1 so far on a nine-game road trip against the Braves, Marlins and Cardinals. They are 18-14 away from the City of Brotherly Love this season.

Jorge Cantu hit a two-run homer, doubled and scored twice to lead Florida, which is 3-2 on a seven-game homestand and 21-14 in Miami this season. Hanley Ramirez and Mike Jacobs also homered for the Marlins, while starter Ricky Nolasco held the Phillies to three unearned runs on four hits in six innings to pick up the win.

Florida will hand the pitching assignment to Andrew Miller tonight, and he is 4-5 with a 5.65 earned run average in 13 starts this season. Miller is 0-2 with a 6.92 ERA in his past three trips to the mound, last suffering a loss to Cincinnati on Friday. He was reached for four runs in 3 1/3 innings of an 11-3 defeat to the Reds.

The left-hander, who has lost three of four decisions, did not factor in the outcome of a 7-5 loss to the Phillies on June 1 at Citizens Bank Park. Miller yielded three runs -- two earned -- in five frames.

Miller is 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA in two career starts against the Phillies.

Philadelphia won two of three games against the Marlins at Citizens Bank Park from May 30-June 1. Both teams won nine games in last season's series.
