Minnesota Twins (31-31) at Chicago White Sox (35-26), 2:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox will try to corral their sixth consecutive win when they take on the Minnesota Twins in the third installment of a four-game set at U. S. Cellular Field.

The White Sox will send Gavin Floyd to the hill, as he tries to push his personal winning streak to three games. The last time the young hurler was on the hill, he led the White Sox to a 9-5 victory over Kansas City. In the win, Floyd lasted seven innings, surrendering just four runs on six hits, while striking out four batters.

In two starts against the Twins this season, the 25-year-old is 1-1 with an impressive 1.88 ERA. In 14 1/3 innings of duty, he has allowed just four runs, but has walked six batters, while striking out only five.

Floyd has done a tremendous job at U. S. Cellular Field this season, posting a 3-1 margin with a 2.39 ERA in five starts.

Kevin Slowey has pitched well for the Twins this season, but has not received much run support and is currently just 2-5 on the year. The last time Slowey took the hill, he fell to the Orioles, 5-3. It was the first time in his seven starts the right-hander surrendered more than three runs, as the O's scored four runs on seven hits in Slowey's six innings of work.

Earlier this season, the 24-year-old fell to the White Sox, 6-2. Slowey lasted just five innings, allowing three runs on four hits, while also striking out four batters.

Yesterday, Joe Crede continued his amazing power surge, clubbing a pair of three-run homers, as the White Sox pounded the Twins, 11-2.

Nick Swisher had three hits, an RBI and scored three times for the first-place White Sox, who have won five straight games and 17 of their last 23. They widened their lead to 4 1/2 games over Minnesota in the AL Central.

The White Sox have hit 11 home runs through the first five games of this homestand, including tying a season-high with four in Friday night's 10-6 victory.

Two of those were from Crede, who has 14 homers this year, with seven of them coming against the Twins. The six RBI from Crede on Saturday was one shy of a career-best, set Aug. 27, 2002 against Toronto.

Mark Buehrle (3-6) threw eight solid innings, allowing seven hits and one run to move his lifetime mark to 21-11 versus the Twins. That includes victories in eight of his last 10 decisions against Minnesota.

Livan Hernandez (6-3) yielded eight hits and seven runs over four innings to remain winless in his last five starts. Delmon Young homered for the Twins, losers of three in a row.

Minnesota is a meager 12-15 on the road this season, while the White Sox have a strong 18-9 ledger at U. S. Cellular Field.
