(Sports Network) - Young Greg Reynolds tries to pitch Colorado to its fourth straight win this evening when the Rockies play the middle tilt of their three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Coors Field.
Reynolds, though, is still searching for his first major league win and is 0-3 with a 5.72 earned run average in his five starts. The 22-year-old right- hander dropped his second straight start on Monday, as he was defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers after surrendering six runs (four earned) and seven hits in five innings.
He has never faced the Brewers.
Milwaukee will counter with right-hander Dave Bush, who is 2-5 with a 5.49 ERA this season. Bush picked up the win on Sunday in one of his better efforts of the season against Houston, which reached him for just a run and four hits in seven innings. He also struck out five without walking a batter to win for the second time in his last three decisions.
Bush won his only other start against the Rockies, scattering five hits over six scoreless innings.
In the opener of this set on Friday, Brad Hawpe, activated from the disabled list prior to the game, hit the go-ahead, two-run home run to cap a five-run eighth inning, lifting Colorado to a 6-4 win.
Garrett Atkins had a triple and finished with two RBI and two runs scored for the Rockies, whose winning streak comes on the heels of an eight-game skid. Todd Helton and Jeff Baker each had two hits and an RBI in the win.
Ubaldo Jimenez started for Colorado, but was touched for four runs on five hits in six innings for the no-decision. Manuel Corpas (1-3) got the win with a scoreless eighth inning and Brian Fuentes earned his ninth save with a perfect ninth.
Jason Kendall had an RBI triple for the Brewers, who saw their six-game win streak halted. J.J. Hardy, Russell Branyan and Gabe Kapler each had an RBI in defeat.
Brewers starter Ben Sheets went six innings, giving up only one run on five hits, but didn't factor in the decision. Guillermo Mota (2-4) absorbed the loss as he failed to record an out and gave up four runs on four hits in the eighth.
Colorado won all three of its matchups at home against the Brewers last season on the way to taking four of six in the season series.
