Philadelphia Phillies (36-26) at Atlanta Braves (32-29), 7:35 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Philadelphia veteran starter Jamie Moyer will try to stretch his unbeaten streak to five games this evening, when the Phillies open a three-game series against the NL East-rival Atlanta Braves at Turner Field.

Moyer has won four straight starts and is 5-1 over his past six trips to the mound. Moyer, who has lasted at least six innings in each outing during his current run, beat the Florida Marlins on Sunday despite allowing five runs in seven innings. The Phillies held on to win the game by a 7-5 score.

The veteran southpaw will face the Braves for the first time this season, and is 3-8 with a 5.42 ERA in 12 career games (11 starts) against them.

NL East-leading Philadelphia hopes Moyer can put forth the same results starter Cole Hamels did in Thursday afternoon's 5-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds in the finale of a four-game series at Citizens Bank Park. Hamels tossed a three-hitter for his second shutout of the season to improve to 6-4 on the year.

Geoff Jenkins clubbed a solo home run for the Phillies, who won three of four in the series and finished off an 8-2 homestand. Ryan Howard and Shane Victorino each added a run-scoring single in the win. The Phillies will now hit the road for nine games against the Braves, Marlins and Cardinals, and are 15-13 away from South Philly this season.

Philadelphia sits 2 1/2 games ahead of Florida and 3 1/2 games in front of Atlanta in the competitive division standings. In more interesting news for Philadelphia, star shortstop and 2007 NL MVP Jimmy Rollins was benched in Thursdays game by manager Charlie Manuel for not running out a pop-up that was dropped in the third inning. Catcher Carlos Ruiz was able to score on the error to make it 1-0, but Manuel was not happy with Rollins' lack of hustle.

Tonight, Atlanta will hand the ball to staff ace Tim Hudson, who is 7-4 with a 3.01 ERA in 13 starts this season. Hudson, though, is 1-2 over his last four decisions since a personal three-game winning streak. He was handed the loss in a 6-2 setback at Cincinnati on June 1, allowing four runs -- three earned -- and seven hits in six frames. On a brighter note for Hudson, he is 5-1 in six starts at Turner Field this season. Hudson is also 4-5 with a 4.02 ERA in 13 career starts against Philadelphia.

The Braves won three of four games against the Marlins to open a seven-game homestand, improving to 25-8 at Turner Field with a 7-5 triumph on Thursday. Chipper Jones went deep for the 400th time in his career and finished 4-for-5 at the plate to boost his batting average to .418. Brian McCann added a two- run homer and Yunel Escobar hit a solo blast for the Braves.

Atlanta starter Jair Jurrjens earned the win despite yielding five runs and 11 hits over six innings of work. Jurrjens improved to 5-0 in seven home starts this season.

Philadelphia won two of three games at home against Atlanta from May 13-15 this season.
