San Francisco Giants (22-31) at Arizona Diamondbacks (30-23), 9:40 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Barry Zito tries to string back-to-back wins together for the first time this season tonight when the San Francisco Giants try and complete a three-game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.

Zito, an AL Cy Young Award winner in 2002, got off the schneid on Friday in Florida, as he picked up his first win of the year by holding the Marlins to a run and three hits in 6 1/3 innings to improve to 1-8 on the season, while lowering his earned run average to a still lofty 5.65.

The 30-year-old lefty has lost twice already to the D'Backs this season and is 2-5 lifetime against them with a 3.80 ERA in seven starts. He has also dropped his last four starts to Arizona.

San Francisco moved to the brink of a sweep on Wednesday, as Ray Durham homered and drove in four runs, leading the Giants to an 11-3 victory.

It was the biggest output of the season for the Giants, who received three-hit efforts from Jose Castillo and Bengie Molina. Molina also knocked in two runs and is hitting .590 (23-for-39) with 16 RBI during a current 10-game hitting streak.

Aaron Rowand and Emmanuel Burriss each drove in a pair of runs in San Francisco's second straight triumph. A win tonight would give the Giants their first sweep in Arizona since turning the trick from September 2-4, 2005.

Jonathan Sanchez (3-3) was credited with the victory, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks while fanning six in a six-inning start.

Doug Davis (2-2) was roughed up for six runs on nine hits and three walks, as Mark Reynolds' solo home run and Justin Upton's two-run double provided the offense for Arizona, which has dropped three straight, four of five and seven of its last nine contests.

Arizona, which hasn't been swept at home this season, will pin its hopes tonight on a former left-handed Cy Young Award winner of its own in Randy Johnson, who is unbeaten in his last six starts.

Johnson was brilliant on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves, but failed to register a win, despite surrendering a run and five hits in six innings of his team's 3-1 loss. He also fanned 10 batters without walking a batter, as he remained at 4-1 on the season, but lowered his ERA to 4.03.

With 4,663 strikeouts, Johnson needs nine more to tie Roger Clemens for second on the all-time list behind Nolan Ryan.

The 44-year-old hurler is 7-8 in his illustrious career against the Giants with a 3.42 ERA in 21 starts.

Despite its struggles in this series, Arizona has won four of its seven matchups with the Giants this season and has won six of the last nine meetings. The D'Backs have also been a stingy host, winning four of six and 11 of their last 15 at home in the series.
