(Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Pirates try to string back-to-back wins together this afternoon when they play the rubber match of their three-game series with the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park.

Pittsburgh snapped a four-game home losing streak to the Cubs on Saturday, as Jason Bay knocked in three runs, including the game-winner in the 14th inning, lifting the Pirates to a 5-4 win.

Bay finished 4-for-6 at the plate with a two-run home run, the Pirates' only extra-base hit. Pittsburgh tallied 12 singles, two apiece from Adam LaRoche and Jason Michaels.

Pirates starter Phil Dumatrait came through with 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits and three walks in a no-decision, while John Grabow (4-1) earned the win after throwing three shutout innings in additional time.

Aramis Ramirez knocked in a pair for Chicago, while Geovany Soto and Kosuke Fukudome each recorded two hits and an RBI in defeat.

Starter Jason Marquis was touched for three runs on seven hits and three walks through 5 1/3 frames for the Cubs, who have lost three of four. Michael Wuertz (0-1) took the loss after allowing the unearned run in the 14th, his second inning of work.

Despite Saturday's setback, Chicago has dominated the Bucos this season, winning nine of its 11 matchups with them, including a three-game sweep in the Steel City from April 7-9. The Cubs are also 12-2 in their last 14 meetings with the Pirates dating back to last season.

Hoping to continue that trend today for the Cubs will be lefty Ted Lilly, who has won his last four starts. After losing his first three decisions of the year, Lilly won for the fifth time in his last six outings on Monday in Houston, as he held the Astros to two runs and four hits in 5 1/3 innings to raise his record to 5-4 on the season, while lowering his earned run average to 5.14.

Lilly was hit hard in a no-decision to the Pirates back on April 7, but is 1-0 against them with a 5.26 ERA in six games, four of which have been starts. In the outing earlier in the year Lilly surrendered five runs and seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Pittsburgh will counter with left-hander Paul Maholm, who is 2-5 with a 5.03 ERA. Maholm lost his third straight decision on Tuesday against Milwaukee, surrendering four runs and nine hits in 6 1/3 frames.

Maholm, though, has had a modicum of success against the Cubs over the course of his career, posting a 4-0 mark in six starts, but has pitched to a 6.27 ERA in those outings.

Chicago outfielder Alfonso Soriano was just 1-for-7 in Saturday's marathon win, but has recorded a hit in each of his eight games against the Pirates this season. He has also hit Maholm in his career, going 4-for-10 against him with a pair of home runs.
