LA Angels of Anaheim (28-21) at Chicago White Sox (26-20), 3:55 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Jered Weaver will try to put his road woes behind him and continue his recent success when he leads the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim into action against the Chicago White Sox in the second bout of a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field.

After going 13-7 a year ago, Weaver is off to a slow start this season mainly because of poor pitching on the road, where he has gone just 1-3 with a 7.76 ERA in five starts. Overall he is 3-5 with a 4.73 ERA.

The right-hander, however, has fared well over his last two starts and that is certainly a good sign for him and the Angels. He has surrendered just two earned runs over his last 12 1/3 innings of work, while striking out 13 in that span. On Sunday, Weaver limited the Los Angeles Dodgers to two earned runs and five hits over 5 1/3 innings of a 10-2 triumph. He fanned seven in earning his first win since April 27th.

Weaver is a perfect 2-0 with a miniscule 0.48 in three career starts against the White Sox. On May 13th, he earned a no-decision against them despite allowing just one hit over seven scoreless innings of an eventual 2-0 win by the Angels.

Opposing Weaver for the second time this month will be John Danks, who tossed 6 1/3 shutout innings against the Angels on May 13th. He struck out five in what was his first career appearance against Los Angeles.

The left-hander was last on the hill on Sunday, when he gave up three earned runs and six hits over six innings of work against the San Francisco Giants. He did not factor in the decision.

Danks is a level 2-2 with a 4.64 ERA in four starts at home this season.

On Friday, Joe Saunders pitched 8 1/3 solid innings and Torii Hunter homered to lead Los Angeles past Chicago 3-1. Maicer Izturis and Gary Matthews, Jr. added hit-by-pitch RBI for the Angels, who have won four of five.

Saunders (8-1) gave up only three hits and a run along with four strikeouts and three walks in the 99-pitch outing, his longest of the season. Francisco Rodriguez recorded the final two outs of the contest to earn his major-league high 20th save.

Gavin Floyd (4-3) pitched well in defeat for Chicago, allowing three runs on three hits over nine innings.

Jermaine Dye collected an RBI single for the White Sox, whose season-high eight-game winning streak came to an end.

These teams split four encounters in Anaheim earlier this month, as well as six meetings in Chicago during the 2007 campaign.
