Baltimore Orioles (24-23) at Tampa Bay Rays (28-20), 6:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Tampa Rays have been nearly unbeatable at home of late and they will try to keep that trend going this evening in the second of three straight matchups with the Baltimore Orioles at Tropicana Field.

On Friday, the Rays kicked off a lengthy 10-game homestand on a high note, as Matt Garza threw eight shutout innings in a 2-0 victory over the Orioles.

Garza (3-1) allowed four hits, walked four and logged four strikeouts before being removed with one out in the eighth. The right-hander hasn't given up a run in his last two home starts, blanking the Yankees over seven frames on May 12. Troy Percival threw the ninth inning for his 14th save.

Carl Crawford and Carlos Pena each drove in a run for Tampa Bay, which has won three of its last four contests overall and 13 of 14 in St. Petersburg.

Aubrey Huff tripled for the Orioles, who have lost three in a row, getting outscored 12-1 in that span

Jeremy Guthrie (2-5) was saddled with the loss despite yielding just four hits and a run over 6 2/3 frames.

The Orioles are hoping for another solid outing from Steve Trachsel, as he takes the mound this evening. Trachsel hasn't started since May 9th when the veteran right-hander gave up two earned runs and five hits over 5 1/3 innings of a 7-4 victory over the Kansas City Royals. It was his first win since April 4th.

Trachsel, who is just 2-4 with a 6.75 ERA on the season, is 0-3 with a 5.93 ERA in five career starts against the Rays and that includes an 0-1 mark with a 7.53 ERA versus them last season.

Edwin Jackson gets the call for Tampa and he is in search of his first win since April 10th. Despite not earning a decision in any of his last three starts, Jackson has been extremely effective, allowing just one earned run over 20 1/3 innings.

The right-hander was last in action on Sunday, when he surrendered one earned run and six hits in 5 1/3 innings of an eventual 5-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. He fanned a season-high seven batters while walking four.

Jackson, who is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in one career start and two relief showings against the Orioles, has lowered his ERA from 4.98 to 3.29 courtesy of his last three starts.

These AL East foes have met nine times already this season, with the Rays winning six of those tests. Tampa Bay took two of three games from the Orioles in St. Petersburg from April 11-13.
