(Sports Network) - The San Francisco Giants finally ended their losing streak, and will shoot for a series win over the Philadelphia Phillies today in the finale of a three-game set at AT&T Park.
The Giants had lost five in a row before recording an 8-2 victory on Saturday behind a strong performance from young pitcher Tim Lincecum. Lincecum struck out eight over eight innings and allowed just two runs on four hits while walking just one.
Jose Castillo went 4-for-4 with a double and knocked in one run, while Randy Winn and Aaron Rowand each had three hits. Omar Vizquel, playing in his first game of the year after missing the first 36 as he recovered from left knee surgery, went 3-for-5 and scored a run in a winning effort.
Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez gets the nod this afternoon, and he is 2-2 with a 4.74 ERA in seven starts this season.
Sanchez is 0-1 in two starts since a personal two-game winning streak. He last took the hill on May 6 at Pittsburgh, yielding seven runs in 4 1/3 innings of a 12-6 loss.
The left-hander is 0-0 with a 4.76 earned run average in four relief appearances against the Phillies.
Ryan Howard and Chris Coste each homered for the Phillies, who are 3-3 on their seven-game west coast swing. Jamie Moyer took the loss after being reached for six runs on nine hits in four innings.
Adam Eaton is still in search of his first win of the 2008 season, and will take the hill for the Phillies this afternoon. Eaton, who is 0-1 with a 5.63 ERA in seven starts, lost his last start on May 6 at Arizona.

The right-hander is 3-6 with a 5.34 earned run average through 15 career starts against San Francisco.
