San Diego Padres (12-22) at Atlanta Braves (17-15), 1:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves wrap up a homestand that's brought the club nothing but success thus far with this afternoon's finale of a three-game series with the punchless San Diego Padres at Turner Field.

Atlanta started off this six-game residency by winning three straight encounters with Cincinnati, then topped the Padres in each of the first two tests of this set. On Wednesday, the Braves received seven strong innings out of Tim Hudson that propelled the club to a 5-2 victory over slumping San Diego.

Hudson (5-2) allowed just two runs on six hits for Atlanta, which scored three times in the bottom of the seventh inning to record its sixth straight win at Turner Field. Brian McCann went 3-for-4 and scored on Greg Norton's pinch-hit single in the seventh that gave the Braves a 3-2 lead.

Yunel Escobar finished 2-for-4 with an RBI single in the win, while Chipper Jones also collected two hits to up his major league-leading batting average to .429.

Padres starter Randy Wolf (2-2) took the loss after being charged with five runs on eight hits over six-plus innings.

Atlanta, now 13-4 at home this season, will be attempting to record its first three-game sweep of San Diego at Turner Field since August 14-16, 2000.

The Padres have lost five of their last six contests and fell to a woeful 6-13 on the road in 2008. San Diego has gone 2-6 so far on a nine-game trek.

Fresh off an impressive season debut, Jo-Jo Reyes will attempt to keep the Braves' hot streak going when he toes the rubber in this afternoon's finale. The 23-year-old prospect was called up from Triple-A Richmond on Saturday and responded by limiting Cincinnati to one run and four hits over 5 1/3 innings in Atlanta's 9-1 rout of the Braves that night.

Reyes, who is taking the place of the injured John Smoltz in the Atlanta rotation, produced a 2-2 record and a 6.22 earned run average over 11 appearances (10 starts) with the Braves a year ago. The left-hander made his major league debut against the Padres at Petco Park last July but lasted just three innings in that contest, surrendering five runs and a pair of homers while registering a no decision.

One-time Brave Wilfredo Ledezma makes his first start of 2008 for the Padres today after a successful early-season stint as a reliever. The left-hander is switching places with Justin Germano, now banished to the bullpen following a string of ineffective outings.

In seven appearances this season, Ledezma has allowed just four earned runs in 18 innings and held opponents to a .227 batting average. However, the native Venezuelan is coming off a shaky performance on Sunday, when Ledezma permitted a pair of runs and walked three Florida Marlins in 1 2/3 innings of work.

The 27-year-old pitched in 12 games with the Braves last season before being traded to San Diego on July 31. He has never previously faced his former club.

The Braves are 15-4 over their last 19 matchups with San Diego, with an 8-2 mark at Turner Field during that stretch.
