Milwaukee Brewers (16-15) at Florida Marlins (17-14), 7:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Florida Marlins are within striking distance for the top spot in the NL East, and will open a three-game series versus the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at Dolphin Stadium.

Florida, which is just a game behind Philadelphia in the division standings, took two of three games from the San Diego Padres over the weekend to improve to 2-4 on a nine-game homestand. In Sunday's 10-3 triumph over the Padres in the series finale, Dan Uggla finished 3-for-4 with a solo home run, three runs batted in and three runs scored.

Mike Jacobs also went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored for the Marlins, who got six strong innings from pitcher Andrew Miller. Miller gave up just two runs on four hits to post the victory.

The Marlins will send Scott Olsen to the mound on Tuesday, and he is 3-1 with a 2.70 earned run average through six starts this season. Olsen is coming off his first setback of the season -- a 13-1 loss versus the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 30. Olsen yielded seven hits and four runs in five innings to watch his unbeaten streak halted at 3-0 in five outings.

Olsen faced the Brewers on April 25 this season at Miller Park, posting a no- decision after 7 1/3 scoreless innings of four-hit ball in a 3-0 Florida win. The lefty is 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA in four career appearances against Milwaukee.

Milwaukee is coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of the Houston Astros to fall to 2-4 on a nine-game road trip. The Brewers suffered an 8-6 loss in 12 innings on Sunday, as Hunter Pence's home run in the bottom of the 12th inning off losing pitcher Mitch Stetter lifted Houston to victory.

Mike Cameron slugged a pair of homers and finished with four RBI, while starting pitcher Ben Sheets gave up four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings for the no-decision. Eric Gagne later blew his fifth save of the season in the ninth by giving up three walks, two hits and a pair of runs.

Brewers starter Jeff Suppan will try put his recent outing behind him when he toes the rubber this evening. Suppan, who is 1-1 with a 5.19 ERA in six starts, is coming off his worst start of 2008 in which he surrendered 11 runs -- eight earned -- on 11 hits in just 3 2/3 innings. The performance ended a streak of four straight no-decisions.

Suppan is decent in his career against Florida, toting a 4-3 mark with a 3.50 earned run average in 11 career starts.

The Marlins won two of three games against the Brewers at Miller Park from April 25-27 this season.
